He is out of the fabulous Tb mare Redeemable- she is by Red Glow(UK) who is reputed to have been a lovely looking horse. Redeemable is from a long line of race winning mares. She boasts Nijinsky and Exbury in her pedigree. Redeemable had a wet track specialist son named Prince Petrus who was nominated for the NZDerby for his 6th race.
Rafferty has been shown once at the NI Welsh Foal Show in 2007 to win the Showhunter Prospect class. His handler couldn't run fast enough to show off his full stride as a six month foal- he has such a huge ground eating stride.
Rafferty has a fabulous laid back shoulder, calm accepting nature, straight legs and ground covering gait. This boy will be a real treasure once under saddle with our son Conor on him. His canter is like a very large rocking horse- a lot like Shamrocks- only he will be much bigger than her, so he will make an deal horse for the showhunter hack circuit.
He has a very trainable active mind, in winter he squeezed into the walkway between our stables, with all stable doors shut and no room to turn around he figured out he had to walk out backwards. Picks up items and always trying to help. Loves being around stables where there is a bit of action.
