Cwmkaren Beaufort Express - our resident 4 yo Welsh cob stallion carried a rider for the first time yesterday. I suddenly realised that he was about to turn 5 yo and we still havent ridden him- we are always so busy with the other horses, so I said to my son we will focus a bit on Beau this school holidays, so he got some handling and lunging when we could fit it in. In fact he was lunged 3 times.

What a star he is. Absolutley at ease with being ridden- born for it. I long reined him off a halter for his first time and he was so easy I asked my 14yo son Conor if he would like to be legged up onto him, I put a bit in his mouth and attached reins and Steve led Conor about and after 2 circuits of the round pen Steve cut Conor loose and he was riding Beau around. Simply amazing temperament.
