On 1st June 2008 Shamrock was brilliantly ridden by 15yo rider Kristy Hill to come third in a class at one of a series of Waitemata Showhunter training competitions. Rain the night before resulted in a stream flowing over the well used warm up area and into the Pony ring. Shammy and Kristy's first class was the 60cm where in a tough class of 48 entries they showed their calibre with a third placing. It was only the second time Kristy had ridden Shamrock!
